When the sun halo (Circular rainbow) appeared over the ancient city of Ayutyah, Thailand, it dominated the view looking up at the stone temples within the remains of the second capital of the Siamese Kingdom. Destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century, its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, date back as far as 1350. One of my favorite images.
